How to unlock Power & Speed - MiniWaveUpdated 4 hours ago
By proceeding with any modifications, you accept full responsibility and agree to the following terms:
- Legal Liability: You are solely accountable for any legal consequences, including fines, penalties, or sanctions, resulting from the use of an unlocked or modified eBike on public roads.
Under the Australian Road Rules and relevant state laws, an eBike that exceeds 250W of continuous power output, a 25km/h pedal-assisted speed limit, or a 6km/h throttle speed limit, does not meet the legal classification of a bicycle. As such, it may be subject to motor vehicle regulations, which include registration, licensing, and insurance requirements.
Accidents & Injuries: Any injuries, damages, or accidents caused by operating a modified eBike are entirely at your own risk. Ridewave Bikes does not accept any liability for such occurrences.
Warranty Implications: Unauthorized alterations to your eBike's advanced settings may result in the voiding of certain warranty provisions, including coverage for repairs, maintenance, or replacements.
Ridewave Bikes takes no legal, financial, or personal responsibility for the misuse of these settings. By unlocking or modifying your eBike, you acknowledge that you are acting at your own discretion and agree to comply with all applicable local laws.
Ride Responsibly. Ride Safely.
1. Legal Compliance and Riding Guidelines:
- Speed: The legal speed limit for public road use is 25 km/h across all Australian states. Unlocking speed limits is strictly for private property or off-road use only.
Important Notes:
- Ridewave Bikes, including the MiniWave are designed to comply with Australian road laws. Always ensure you operate your bike within the limits of your local regulations.
- Any modifications to power output, speed settings, or throttle functionality are for private use only. Such changes may make the bike non-compliant with road laws.
- Unauthorized modifications can void the warranty and may lead to legal penalties.
Stay safe, ride responsibly, and enjoy the performance of your MiniWave within the guidelines of Australian regulations.
2. Accessing the Advanced Settings (Speed Unlock)
Turn off the Display
Before you begin, ensure the display is turned off. Make sure the bike is stationary and in a safe location for making adjustments.
Access the Passcode Prompt
Turn the display on. Press and hold the + and – buttons together for about 2 seconds to open the standard settings menu.
Enter the Passcode
While in the settings menu, press and hold the Power and – buttons at the same time until you see the password prompt.
Use the code 0526:
Cycle through the numbers using the + and – buttons.
Press the Power button to confirm each digit and move to the next.
Navigate to the Speed Settings
Once in the advanced settings menu, press the Power button once to navigate to the LS screen. This is the speed limit page. By default, the limit is set to 25 km/h. Setting the LS value to 26 or higher fully unlocks the motor’s maximum speed when pedalling or using the throttle. (Note: choosing 26 does not cap the speed at 26 km/h—it removes the limit.) To save your changes, press and hold the Power button until the display returns to the home screen. You can test the change by leaning the bike on its kickstand and gently using the throttle— you should notice increased speed.
Note:
To re-lock the bike to its default speed limit, repeat these steps and set the LS speed back to 25.
Adjusting the Power Level
To change the power mode on your MiniWave:
Press and hold the Power and – buttons together for about 2 seconds until C2 appears on the display.
Class 1 (C1) is the default setting, limiting the motor to 250W for standard performance and maximum range.
To increase acceleration and top speed, switch to C2, which enables 500W mode. Keep in mind that this will drain the battery more quickly.
