Miniwave Folding Strap Usage GuideUpdated 9 days ago

The frame strap on your Miniwave is designed to hold the bike securely together when it’s folded. Because it’s meant to pull the folded frame tight, the strap is intentionally short and must be routed correctly to work as intended. If the strap feels “too short,” that’s normal — once the bike is folded properly and the strap is looped the right way, it will fit and secure the bike firmly.

Before You Strap the Bike

  • Fold the bike fully so it’s as compact as possible.
  • Fold the kickstand.
  • Fold the pedals, then rotate them to roughly a 45° angle.
  • Position the non-drive side pedal (L) so it tucks between the frame hinge and the front wheel. This helps bring the front end in closer to the frame, making the strap easier to apply.

How to Route the Frame Strap

  1. With the Miniwave folded, make sure the long end of the strap is pointing upward.
  2. Wrap the strap around the front fork stanchion.
  3. Bring the strap back up to the attachment point under the rear rack. For the best fit, route the strap:
    • Under the rack’s main square tubing, and
    • Over the smaller round tubing (where accessories like pannier mounts may attach).
  4. Make sure the strap lies flat with no twists or bunching.
  5. Pull the strap snug so the folded bike is held tightly together for storage or transport.

For reference, your strap should be about 24.5 cm long as measured from the top of the frame tubing to the end as seen below.

Quick Check

When routed correctly, the strap should pull the folded bike together firmly. If the strap seems difficult to connect, double-check that the bike is folded as compactly as possible (kickstand and pedals folded, and the front end pulled in close).
