Miniwave Weight Capacity and Rack LoadUpdated 5 hours ago
Every e-bike has a maximum weight limit. Staying within it keeps your Miniwave safe to ride, protects the frame, wheels and brakes, and keeps your warranty valid.
Miniwave Weight Limits
| Maximum total weight capacity | 155 kg |
| Rear rack rated load | 68 kg |
| Bike weight (for reference) | 23.5 kg without battery; 26.5 kg (10.4Ah) / 26.7 kg (13.2Ah) with battery |
What Counts Towards the 155 kg?
The total weight capacity (sometimes called the payload) includes everything the bike carries:
- The rider
- Clothing, helmet and riding gear
- Anything on the rear rack, in baskets or in pannier bags
- A passenger, if you are using the passenger saddle and footpegs
The rear rack load is part of the 155 kg total, not on top of it. For example, a 100 kg rider can carry up to 55 kg on the bike in total, even though the rack itself is rated for 68 kg.
Carrying Loads Safely
- Keep heavy items low and centred, and balance pannier bags evenly on both sides.
- Check that everything is secured and can’t touch the wheels, chain or brakes.
- Allow for longer braking distances and slower handling when the bike is heavily loaded.
- Check your tyre pressure — heavier loads need tyres inflated towards the upper end of the range printed on the sidewall.
- Expect less range from the battery when carrying heavy loads.
Carrying a Passenger
If you use the rear rack saddle and footpegs, the passenger must be able to sit fully on the saddle with both feet resting securely on the footpegs. Do not carry a passenger whose feet can’t reach the pegs. The combined weight of rider, passenger and cargo must stay within 155 kg. See Miniwave Rear Rack Saddle & Footpegs Guide for installation.
Always follow local road rules for carrying passengers.
