Before Your First RideUpdated an hour ago
Your Ridewave e-bike or e-trike should be checked carefully before its first ride. Most Ridewave products arrive largely pre-assembled, but final assembly and safety checks are still required. Taking a few minutes now helps make the first ride feel safer and more relaxed.
1. Read the correct assembly guide first
Please use the assembly guide or manual for your exact model. It explains the model-specific assembly steps, controls and safety information. Do not rely on an instruction video or guide for a different model, as fittings and controls can vary.
If you are unsure about any part of the assembly, do not ride until it has been checked. You are welcome to contact Ridewave, or arrange a check with a qualified local bike mechanic.
2. Complete a simple safety check
Before switching on, please check that:
- The battery is securely fitted and locked in place.
- The handlebars are straight and secure.
- The wheels, pedals and any key bolts are secure.
- Both brakes operate properly.
- The tyres are correctly inflated and show no obvious damage.
- The lights, display and moving parts operate as expected.
- The saddle or seat is set to a comfortable and stable position.
Make sure any accessories supplied with your order are fitted securely before riding. If your order included more than one parcel, check that you have received all tracking updates before assuming something is missing.
Do not ride if the brakes, steering, wheels, pedals or any frame component feels loose, damaged or unsafe.
3. Take your first ride somewhere quiet
Start in a clear, flat area away from traffic. Choose a low pedal-assist level until you are familiar with the vehicle, brakes and controls. Practise starting, stopping and gentle turns before heading out on a longer ride. Wear a suitable helmet and follow the road rules that apply where you ride.
If you are riding an e-trike for the first time, allow yourself a little time to get used to its handling. An e-trike does not lean through corners like a two-wheel bicycle, so slow down before turns and steer smoothly.
