Charging Your Ridewave BatteryUpdated an hour ago
All Ridewave e-bikes and e-trikes include a certified charger. For safety and battery care, please use the Ridewave-supplied or approved charger for your model only. A replacement charger must be compatible with both your model and battery, so please check with us before purchasing one.
Charge safely
- Charge in a dry, well-ventilated area.
- Keep the battery and charger away from water, direct sunlight, heat and flammable materials.
- Check the battery, charging port and charger for visible damage before charging.
- Follow the charging connection steps shown in the manual for your exact model.
- Keep the battery and charger on a stable surface while charging.
Before charging, allow the battery to cool if you have just completed a long ride or it feels warm. Do not charge a wet battery or charger. If the battery has been exposed to rain, dry it carefully and allow it to dry fully before connecting it to the charger.
The charger has automatic cut-off protection. Overnight charging is generally okay, but for best battery care, unplug the charger after the battery is fully charged when practical. Avoid leaving the battery connected to a charger for extended periods when it does not need charging.
Looking after the battery
Ridewave batteries are removable. If you remove the battery for charging or storage, handle it carefully and keep it dry.
For longer-term storage:
- Do not leave the battery fully depleted for an extended period.
- Check its charge level periodically and top it up when needed.
- Keep it in a dry, sheltered place away from extreme heat or cold.
If you are not riding for several weeks, do not store the battery empty. Check it occasionally and recharge it when needed. This helps avoid deep discharge, which can affect battery performance.
Charging time varies by model and battery size, so please refer to your product manual rather than relying on one standard time for all Ridewave products.
If something does not seem right
Stop using and charging the battery immediately if it is damaged, unusually hot, swollen, smoking, sparking or has an unusual smell. Keep it away from flammable materials where it is safe to do so, and contact Ridewave.
If the battery will not charge, first check that the wall outlet is working and that you are using the correct Ridewave charger. Do not force the connector or use a damaged cable.
For a possible fault, please submit a warranty claim with your model, order number, and a short video showing the charger, battery and any lights or error messages. For a replacement-charger question, contact Ridewave, call +61 468 095 888, or email [email protected].
Please do not open, modify or attempt to repair the battery or charger yourself.
