Cleaning and Looking After Your RidewaveUpdated an hour ago

Regular, gentle cleaning is one of the easiest ways to look after your Ridewave e-bike or e-trike. It also makes it easier to notice loose parts, tyre damage or a developing brake issue before your next ride.

Before you clean

Turn the vehicle off. Remove the battery only if your model instructions allow it, and keep it dry and protected while you clean the rest of the vehicle.

Choose a dry, stable place and allow the motor, battery and brakes to cool down after a ride before cleaning. Do not clean a damaged battery, charger or electrical component; contact Ridewave for advice instead.

Use gentle cleaning methods

Use a soft cloth, mild bike-safe cleaner and gentle water where needed. Wipe dirt from the frame, wheels, guards, rack and non-electrical surfaces, then dry the vehicle properly before charging or storing it.

Do not use a pressure washer or directly hose the battery, motor, display, controller, charger port, wiring or electrical connectors. Do not submerge the vehicle or battery. Strong water pressure can force moisture into components even where the product is designed to handle normal riding conditions.

Look after the drivetrain and safety items

Keep the chain and drivetrain reasonably clean and lubricated as part of normal bicycle maintenance. Check tyre pressure, brakes, lights and key bolts regularly, particularly after wet or dusty rides.

If you notice brake rub, unusual noises, loose accessories or gear changes that are no longer smooth, a qualified local bike shop can assist with routine adjustment and servicing.

When to stop and ask for help

Do not continue riding if the brakes, steering, wheels, frame or electrical system feels unsafe. If the product has had significant water exposure, or an electrical component appears damaged, do not attempt to open or repair it yourself.
