Display Will Not Turn OnUpdated an hour ago

A blank display can have a simple cause, such as a battery that is not fully connected or charged. Before arranging a repair, work through these safe checks. Do not open the display, controller, battery or wiring.

1. Check the battery first

Make sure the battery on your Ridewave e-bike or e-trike is securely fitted and locked in place where your model uses a lock. Check for visible damage or moisture around the battery case and connection area.

If possible, charge the battery with the Ridewave-supplied or approved charger, following the charging instructions for your model. Do not use a charger that appears damaged, unusually hot or incompatible.

2. Follow your model's normal start-up steps

Use the normal start-up procedure in your product guide or manual. Some displays require the battery to be switched on first, while the exact display button and hold time can vary by model. Avoid repeatedly pressing controls or changing settings if you are unsure which function they perform.

3. Look for useful clues

Please note whether:

  • Any lights appear on the battery, charger or display.
  • The display is completely blank, flickers, or shows an error code.
  • The vehicle was stored for a long period without charging.
  • The issue started after an impact, water exposure or recent transport.

Take a clear photo of the display and any error message. A short video showing the normal switch-on attempt can also help us understand what is happening.

Do not ride if the controls are not working normally

If the display does not switch on, motor assistance and lights may not operate as expected. Do not ride in low light or continue using the vehicle if this creates a safety concern.
