How to unlock Power and Speed - OutlandWave XtUpdated 4 months ago

By proceeding with any modifications, you accept full responsibility and agree to the following terms:

  1. Legal Liability: You are solely accountable for any legal consequences, including fines, penalties, or sanctions, resulting from the use of an unlocked or modified eBike on public roads.
    • Under the Australian Road Rules and relevant state laws, an eBike that exceeds 250W of continuous power output, a 25km/h pedal-assisted speed limit, or a 6km/h throttle speed limit, does not meet the legal classification of a bicycle. As such, it may be subject to motor vehicle regulations, which include registration, licensing, and insurance requirements.

  2. Accidents & Injuries: Any injuries, damages, or accidents caused by operating a modified eBike are entirely at your own risk. Ridewave Bikes does not accept any liability for such occurrences.

  3. Warranty Implications: Unauthorized alterations to your eBike's advanced settings may result in the voiding of certain warranty provisions, including coverage for repairs, maintenance, or replacements.

Ridewave Bikes takes no legal, financial, or personal responsibility for the misuse of these settings. By unlocking or modifying your eBike, you acknowledge that you are acting at your own discretion and agree to comply with all applicable local laws.

Ride Responsibly. Ride Safely.

1. Legal Compliance and Riding Guidelines:

  • Power:
    • Public Roads: In most Australian states, the OutlandWave XT is restricted to a maximum continuous power output of 250W at 25 km/h. In NSW, the bike can operate at up to 500W continuous power while remaining within local road regulations.
    • Private Properties and Off-Road Use: The OutlandWave XT’s power can be fully unlocked for unrestricted performance. Always check local regulations regarding private and off-road use.
  • Speed: The legal speed limit for public road use is 25 km/h across all Australian states. Unlocking speed limits is strictly for private property or off-road use only.
  • Throttle: As the OutlandWave XT comes with a throttle that cannot be reduced to the legal limitation of 6km/h top speed, installing and utilising the throttle can only be done on private property or for off-road use.

Important Notes:

  • Ridewave Bikes, including the OutlandWave XT, are designed to comply with Australian road laws. Always ensure you operate your bike within the limits of your local regulations.
  • Any modifications to power output, speed settings, or throttle functionality are for private use only. Such changes may make the bike non-compliant with road laws.
  • Unauthorized modifications can void the warranty and may lead to legal penalties.

Stay safe, ride responsibly, and enjoy the performance of your OutlandWave XT within the guidelines of Australian regulations.

2. Accessing the Advanced Settings

  1. Enter the Settings Menu:
    • To open the settings menu, press and hold the MODE button within 10 seconds of turning on the display. Use the UP and DOWN arrows to scroll through the options. Press the MODE button briefly to select an option, or press and hold it to return to the previous menu.

Note: The menu will close automatically if there’s no activity for 30 seconds or if you start riding. For safety reasons, settings cannot be changed while riding.

  2. Unlocking the Advanced Menu:
    • Navigate to the advanced settings menu, and after using the MODE key the user will be prompted to enter a passcode. Use the passcode '0526' to access the advanced settings. Make any necessary adjustments to the wheel diameter, speed limitation, and ride mode settings.
    • Ride Mode: Class 1 represents 250W of motor power, and switching to Class 2 will allow the bike to operate with all 500W of the motor's capacity.
