Serial Number InformationUpdated 11 hours ago
Every Ridewave eBike has a unique serial number (like a car’s VIN). It links your specific bike to you and is essential for ownership records, registration, and theft recovery.
Why your serial number matters
- Proof of ownership: Confirms the exact bike you own.
- Theft recovery: Police and registries use serials to match recovered bikes to owners.
- Warranty & support: Speeds up service and verification.
Action we recommend: Record your serial when you receive the bike.

The serial number is on the main frame (never on removable parts). It may be stamped (engraved) into the metal or shown on a barcode sticker sealed beneath the clear coat.
Model-by-model guide
- Xplorer / Xplorer Plus / Xplorer Sport
Serial number is stamped on the front of the headtube. Gently move any cables aside to view. (Location 1) - City eBike
Serial number sticker is on the downtube for current generations (Location 2) - MiniWave / Glide / Urban / Outland XT
Serial number is stamped on the bottom bracket (Location 3). The cables may have to be gently pushed aside to reveal the entire number. The Miniwave's serial number sticker will be located near the frame latch.
Note: Numbers you see on tyres, brakes, seatpost, bars, fork, saddle, display, etc. are size/production codes—not the bike’s frame serial.
Best practice: record & register
- Take a clear photo of the serial number and save it with your purchase receipt.
Security tips
- Use a quality lock and secure to fixed infrastructure when parking.
- Avoid leaving the bike unattended for extended periods in public spaces.
- Consider theft insurance for added peace of mind.
