Setting Up a Comfortable Riding PositionUpdated an hour ago

A comfortable riding position helps you feel more confident and in control. Before your first longer ride on a Ridewave e-bike or e-trike, take time to adjust the contact points that are designed to be adjusted on your model.

Start with the seat

Set the saddle or seat to a height that lets you pedal comfortably and reach the ground safely when stopped. Your position should feel relaxed, with enough room to pedal smoothly without overreaching or feeling cramped.

The available seat adjustment varies by model. Make one small change at a time, then test the position in a clear, flat area before changing anything further.

Check the handlebars and controls

Make sure the handlebars are straight and secure, and that you can comfortably reach the brakes and display controls. Your wrists and shoulders should not feel strained when your hands are on the grips.

Some models have adjustable handlebars, while others have a fixed range. Please use the Product Guide or manual for your exact model rather than forcing a component beyond its normal adjustment range.

Before riding, confirm that:

  • The saddle or seat is secure.
  • The handlebars do not move unexpectedly.
  • Both brake levers are easy to reach and operate properly.
  • Cables and controls are not trapped, stretched or rubbing after an adjustment.

Test in a quiet area

After any fit adjustment, start with a short ride in a quiet, flat area. Use a low pedal-assist level until you feel comfortable with the steering, brakes and seating position.

If you are new to an e-trike, remember that it handles differently to a two-wheel bike when turning. Slow down before corners and allow time to get used to the wider stance.

When to get help

Do not modify the frame, stem, brake system or any other safety-critical component to achieve a different position. If you are unsure whether an adjustment is safe or need help with fit, a qualified local bike shop can help.

For general guidance, contact Ridewave, call +61 468 095 888, or email [email protected]. If a component feels loose, damaged or unsafe, do not ride and submit a warranty claim with your order number and clear photos.
